So, I mentioned in one of my former posts that there are many legends, theories, symbols and other cool facts developed around me. Therefore, what I will be doing today is explaining some of the symbols that have defined me in the past.
- Alchemical symbol - Since I am one of the oldest elements, and I was discovered way before the 18th century I have a claim to fame over one of these little symbols. Way before the modern zodiac came into existence, each planet and ancient element (earth, air, fire, water) was represented by a element (from the periodic table that existed at that time) and a symbol. There were 3 primes, 4 basic, 7 planetary and about 11 mundane elements. I was one of the 7 planetary elements. I was dominated by Mars and my symbol was what has now become the symbol for the 'male gender' (♂). Eventually, these were changed to our current day zodiac. Here are some of the Alchemical symbols:
- John Dalton symbol - When John Dalton was working with the atomic theory of matter, he to gave me a symbol to represent who I am as an atom. This was changed once again as time went on. Here are some of the John Dalton symbols:

- Bohr Rutherford diagram - In 1913 this guy named Niels Bohr decided to try to yet again change my symbol. He succeeded, and thus the Bohr Rutherford, Rutherford–Bohr or Bohr model came into existence. He built on what some other chemists (Ernest Rutherford and James Chadwick) had discovered about the atom and its protons, neutrons and electrons of each element to form a way to count and show these numbers in a diagram unique to each element. Here is my Bohr Rutherford diagram:

Yeah, I've changed a lot over the years (these symbols are not even all of my many different forms), and from the looks of it I'll change again in the future. I don't mind really, its always fun to try out new forms and appearances. I just hope I'll get to look like this someday:
